Quick Guide to Tax Exoneration Process up to $500 CIF

The Customs Law allows the semi annual tax exoneration for personal packages with values up to $500.00 CIF (Item's invoice + shipping+ insurance).

You must notify Aerocasillas in advace about the package you want to exonerate in MyAero

Steps to Exonerate

  • Submit a PreAlert in MyAero and select the exoneration check box at least 24 hours before the package to be exonerated arrives in Miami. You must submit the tracking number (UPS, Fedex, DHL, USPS, etc.), package's value, name of the shipper and consignee.

  • Present the following documents at our nearest counter.
    Please DO NOT fax them.

     
     

    1.

    Power of Attorney form filled out and signed.

    2.

    Commercial Invoice for your package.

    (Only if you don't have the original)

    3.

    4 signed copies of your cédula or passport (Customs does not accept cédula de residencia).

     
     
  • The cost for the exoneration paperwork is $11.30 with tax (includes the Power of Attorney form, legal stamps and paperwork).

     
     

    Remember!

    The exoneration process is NOT AUTOMATIC. You must register a PreAlert in MyAero for your package.

    Each person is allowed a semi-annual tax exoneration of one package containing personal goods with a CIF value up to $500.00 (Item's invoce + shipping charges+ insurance).

    If your order arrives in separate packages on differents flights, you may only exonerate one of the packages according to Custom's regulations.
